Je suis curieux de savoir à quel point nous (les utilisateurs d’Internet) sommes conscients que nous devons donner notre consentement à certaines choses quand nous naviguons.
À mon avis, pas beaucoup. Et c’est doublement dangereux.
Feeling unsafe
I am increasingly feeling a sensation of insecurity. Whether I’m walking alone on the street, on my way to work, or even when I find myself alone at home.
I don’t have a clear idea of what this is due to. I keep asking myself a lot of questions to which I can’t find answers.
I start some of my #DailyNotes posts in French. Then, before publishing, I say to myself: It sounds better in English ?.
So, I translate and publish it in English. It’s weird, I know. I don’t know the exact reason yet.
I guess, among other things, I feel it’s more « secure » for me to write some things in English rather than in French.
As yesterday, I’m writting here a response I gave to a questionnaire. Today, it’s related to four things about me.

I’m Justin. My dream is to create a leading company in the digital business services sector.
I am extremely open to learning and assimilating new things/skills; this is definitely my main talent.

The skills I would like to acquire in the next few years. Sometimes I write down here the answers I give in some questionnaires.
This one is from today.
I have been using WordPress in a very professional and daily manner for almost four years now. So this is one of the areas in which I plan to acquire/enhance my skills and experience in the coming years.
Having used WordPress as I did, and having contributed to advancing this CMS, leading releases, etc., I am now very interested in ways in which WordPress can be extended, and used in very specific contexts.
With the revolution that was the arrival of Gutenberg, the scope of WordPress has greatly expanded. So I plan to expand my expertise in combining WordPress with other technologies; such as React or GraphQL, or using WordPress in a serverless context.
One of the ways I have found to achieve these goals is to work on projects that require the use of WordPress in the unusual context; and not only as a website or blog creation tool.
I challenge myself to make it more of a highly adaptable tool.
When we are passionate about what we do, we can very quickly find ourselves getting very involved in it; at the risk of our own health or well being. That’s why finding the right balance between work, private life, and personal well-being is important.
It seems obvious, when said like that in writing. But in reality, the line where we should stop can sometimes be so thin that it becomes almost invisible.
The most dangerous thing is that, because you’re doing something you love, you still don’t realize that you’re ruining your health and well-being. And when the time comes, it’s already too late.
Pourquoi j’ai décidé de m’inscrire au programme Irawo Taka
En tant que jeune développeur, j’ai toujours voulu travailler en indépendant, à mon propre compte. C’est un objectif qui est plutôt en contradiction avec qui je suis.
Je suis d’un naturel plutôt réservé, et pas très confiant en moi même. C’est donc parfois surprenant pour moi même de me rendre compte à quel point je tiens à cet objectif.
La solution la plus facile que j’ai trouvée il y a un peu plus d’un an pour l’atteindre était toute simple. Épargner suffisamment d’argent pour pouvoir me lancer; de façon sereine.
Toute l’année dernière, et une partie de la précédente, j’ai épargné suffisamment pour pouvoir tenir un train de vie normal pendant douze mois entiers; sans avoir besoin de travailler pour générer des revenus.
Et, quand le moment est venu pour moi de faire le pas, j’ai été assailli d’énormes doutes. En gros j’ai flippé.
Je me suis rendu compte de l’absurdité de mon raisonnement. J’ai passé toute une année à garantir comment je pourrais vivre sans avoir besoin de travailler. Au lieu de m’atteler à construire une relation de confiance solide avec les personnes qui seront mes clients quand je n’aurai plus un « salaire ».
J’ai passé une partie de l’année dernière à EtriLabs, où j’ai connu et pu travailler avec Ulrich Sossou. Son histoire et son parcours sont évidemment inspirants.
Mais c’est totalement différent quand on le voit travailler au quotidien. On se rend compte clairement qu’il aura toujours quelque chose d’utile à nous enseigner. Le fait que Ulrich soit l’une des personnes impliquées dans le Irawo Taka a énormément motivé ma participation.
J’ai confiance en les organisateurs du Irawo Taka, en leurs expériences. Et, ma foi, après avoir lu tous les retours positifs des premiers participants, n’importe qui devrait être convaincu.
Honnêtement, j’en attends beaucoup de ce programme. Et encore plus de moi même tout au long de son déroulement et à sa fin.
À l’heure où j’écris ceci, il reste moins de 12 heures pour s’inscrire au Irawo Taka. Pourquoi attendre ?

J’ai finalement vu « Le Gendarme de Abobo » en salle. Et j’ai A.DO.RÉ.
J’ai trouvé que Michel Gohou a super bien joué. Et l’histoire était plutôt bien ficelée. Bon quelques petites références limites polémiques que j’ai pas aimées ; mais à part ça c’est cool.
Par contre, je ne comprends pas toutes les critiques que le film reçoit. Enfin, je veux plus parler des critiques du genre: les roquettes étaient des jouets, les armes n’étaient pas vraies et tout.
Mais le truc c’est que ce n’est pas un film d’action. Ce n’est pas censé être plein de rebondissements et de suspense comme certaines grandes affiches de Hollywood.
C’est de l’humour, de la bonne humeur, du rire. Et puis il y a Gohou là dedans !!
There is no logical reason why Rumpelstiltskin should be the title of this article. It’s just a fantasy that came to me tonight.
I was watching a video on YouTube when I thought I heard « Rumple. » I immediately remembered the character from a show that I really liked. So I did a Google search for Rumple and it suggested Rumpelstiltskin. Clever huh !
The character is in the series « Once Upon a Time » that, as I said, I really liked.
I also saw on Wikipedia that he was a character from German fairy tales, and that he was quite well known in this culture. I’m going to dig a little bit more on that side.
Oh, he would also be called the Worry Dwarf. Weird ?, I don’t remember him being a dwarf on the show.
It’s been a while since I wanted to move my sites and those of my clients to a managed WordPress hosting provider (performance addict). Now it’s done. I’m moving to Siteground.
For a few months, I have evaluated the offers of the various well-known managed WordPress hosting providers. Among others Kinsta, Bluehost, WP Engine, GoDaddy, Siteground.
Honestly, I was just a few steps away from moving to Kinsta. The price/performance ratio is excellent, with an impeccable support.
But the human factor also played a decisive role in my choice. Basically, I met Francesca Marano, who is WordPresss Community Manager at Siteground.
We e-met during the 5.3 release of WordPresss, which she directed, and for which I coordinated the documentation. I really liked her working methods. Also, I was impressed by her involvement in the WordPress community, and in her work.
I trusted her, and therefore Siteground. So there you go. Now my sites are at Siteground.
