A superb evening

A superb evening.

I just finished a long (and very beautiful) evening. And I’m very happy about it.

And I’m also very happy for the people who contributed to this evening.

The culture of searching

If there’s something I think is very useful for someone in a technical or creative field like mine, it’s the culture of searching.

The ability to first know the right sources of information, and to use them correctly. This is something that will really make the difference between a good software engineer, for example, and a very good software engineer.

Taking advantage of your code editor

Taking advantage of your code editor.

Two weeks ago I started documenting the packages of the WordPress block editor, Gutenberg. It’s one of the things I’ve been doing on a daily basis so since I started.

In practice, here is an example of a pull request of a documentation I publish.

In the beginning, I had trouble identifying correctly either the definitions of the functions I had to document, their properties, etc…

Then this morning, while working, I (by chance) flew over one of these functions in my editor (I use VS Code); and what do I see?

The editor showed me the definition of the function in question, its properties, their types, a description if there is one, etc…

I confess that I almost wanted to bang my head against a wall for not seeing this earlier. Because after all, it’s super convenient. And it clearly allows me to move forward more efficiently.

I’m really hungry right now

I’m really hungry right now.

Okay, I found myself tonight without having eaten anything all day. It’s weird, I was so into what I was doing that I didn’t see the time go by.

So I can say it was a good day. Except that I was really hungry.

On the schedule something hyper flippant

On the schedule something hyper flippant.

I’m planning to do something really scary this weekend. Something I am really apprehensive about.

The results will either be very good or not good. But either way, I need to do it.

Ending a week, starting a new one

Ending a week, starting a new one.

Sunday evenings are for the most part interesting moments for me. They mark the end of one week and the beginning of another.

And in general, I’m always super excited to start a new working week.

Stop trying to live someone else’s life

Stop trying to live someone else’s life.

I realize now that there are some people (especially one) for whom I have great esteem. And that, unconsciously, I try to copy my habits, my life to that person’s life.

I find myself in situations where I ask myself: what would this person have done? How would they have reacted? Until then, normal, you might say.

But when it becomes an obsession, it’s no longer normal in my opinion. I have to understand that as humans, we all have different experiences. And that our actions and reactions are conditioned by them.

I also need to understand that while it is normal to want to be inspired by other people’s actions, this should not impinge on our own decision-making abilities.

Abou Tall – Ghetto Chic
