On building a network for an introverted person
A little context to start with. I'm currently developing and maintaining WordPress products and platforms at the Sèmè City Development Agency. I think I'm the youngest person at the Agency. As a result, I think it encourages more people to give me advice that I often find very instructive.
Today, I spoke with a colleague about the importance of building a network. But more specifically, why I shouldn't hide behind the fact that I'm an introvert to avoid meeting people.
I have rather high professional ambitions, you might say. But so far, I've more or less avoided networking and all that.
I realized that it wasn't necessarily the right way. Humans shouldn't be excluded from our interactions (when you put it like that, it sounds strange, but when, like me, we're very "connected" it makes sense).
As a result, you might see me more and more at networking events and meetings in Cotonou and maybe in other countries of the West African sub-region.
