Have you ever felt prejudiced because of your young age? Mainly in a professional context.
It’s a subject you don’t often see discussed. I think it’s because in general, even when you are prejudiced because of your age, it won’t be explicit.
So when I hear people quoting phrases like, « To born souls, blah blah blah…« , I shrug my shoulders ????????♂️.

Yesterday, after I talked about the #100DaysOfCode I’m about to start, a friend asked me: how do you do it ?
How do I get a job, contribute to WordPress, make side-projects (not finished ????), etc… The only answer I could give him is that he doesn’t want to do the same as me.
I think I sleep less and less, and spend more and more time on my computer. It’s clearly not good for my health. Let’s just say that, over time, I’ve built up a world in which I spend most of my time.
Lately, I’ve been able to see the consequences of this. I’ve understood the importance of having a life off the internet, of talking to real people, of having interactions.
As I usually say, the important thing is to find the right balance between work and private life.
I often see on the Internet an outpouring of contempt against people who use nocode tools. Saying that if someone use nocode tools, then, they’re not a « real developer ».
Sometimes it’s just ignorance, sometimes I find there’s no reason to justify such acts.
Building an expertise in my field
Once a person said to me, « Specialization is the key« . Indeed, the more you specialize, the more you realize that it opens up new horizons.
I aim to build a widely recognized expertise in my field. The future will tell us how this will happen ????✌.
Releasing WP Media Assistant 1.2.2.
Today, in the Python Benin group where I am, this repository of Beninese open source projects has been shared.
It reminded me that it’s almost 6 months since I have updated my WP Media Assistant plugin. So I took the opportunity to do it tonight.
And I have a version 1.2.2 that I released just before going to sleep. It’s really cool to have been able to work on this extension project again. The last few months have been pretty intense.
And as usual since two versions, the plugin has been deployed on the W.org repository with the great 10up GitHub actions. Always a pleasure ????.
It’s easy to overdo it when you love what you do or the work you do. So it’s important to know that it’s also possible to be late for going home.
When you’re passionate about your work, it’s easy to find yourself spending long hours working on something exciting. And not seeing time go by. You may not realize right away the danger of overdoing it.
As a result, it can lead to mental health problems that really hurt. I think we should rather focus on our own well being.
Yesterday I told a colleague that I was late coming home. She smiled. Because it’s not often you say that. You’re late for work, late for an appointment; but not too late for home.
I never thought of myself as an entrepreneur. At least not the way we’re thinking about it here. So, with all the hype around the word right now, I wonder, am I wrong?
To my friends who ask me, I tell them that I see myself more as an independent professional. It’s true, I provide services for individuals and companies. Although these are still digital services, I don’t think the term « innovative » is the most appropriate one.
And in my opinion, entrepreneurship implies in one way or another a strong innovation.
So does that mean I’m not ambitious? That I don’t have dreams? I don’t think so. Just that my dreams and ambitions may not be as thunderous as those of others.
I want to create things. To use my skills and knowledge to create things that are useful to the many. But like I said, I wouldn’t call it entrepreneurship. Again, not as it is defined and seen here.
So is today a holiday or not?
Something really funny happened to me today. I found out yesterday that today might be a holiday. But I didn’t get any confirmation.
So I get ready, and I get to my home office on time to start working.
It’s only around noon that I get a message from the agency’s marketing director. She wanted to ask me something work-related. And in her message, she apologizes for bothering me on a holiday. I was like …
So is today a holiday or not?

I think as a young person, we’re all concerned (or at least we think quite a bit) about what we’re going to do in 10, 15 or 20 years. Of course, sometimes we have a more or less clear idea.
But what if we don’t have a clear idea of what we’re going to do exactly in 10 years? Or 15?
Il est actuellement 23H45 ce Dimanche 10 Mai 2020. Depuis 20H environs, je travaillais sur la page pricing de mes services de maintenance WordPress. Je viens de terminer, et je suis super content.
C’était important pour moi d’avoir une page pricing pour mes services. J’ai donc décidé de commencer par celle des services de maintenance.
Alors, la page est créée en full Gutenberg. C’était vrraiment super cool. De pouvoir m’amuser à nouveau avec les blocs de Gut.
